FOX News Channel has been announcing that they have developed a new Android app that allows you to stream their programs from your phone. They are saying it is in the Market, but I can’t find it. Is it only available in some cities? I found several apps that post news from the FOX website, but none of them are the official FOX app.

We have approved the Hero 2.1 Android update and it has now been handed over to Google and HTC for their final approval. When this occurs, the software will be available to download from the online Discover Center. We will provide more details here next week as soon as it’s available

Good job. This is the CellSouth that I constantly brag about. Will be looking for the final approval from Google and HTC in the coming week. Thanks for all that you do.

I can’t wait for Cellular South to release the Galaxy S so I can FINALLY leave att. I’d be willing to test the phone and still pay the full price if you guys would let me get it early…

and I do hope that Cellular South’s version is like Verizon’s (as in has LED Flash).. It would be even better if it was the original Galaxy S with front facing camera. How cool, if Cellular South had the best Galaxy S out of all the carriers in the US..

Android 2.1 is now available for download online! Before you begin the software download, please make sure you have properly prepared your HTC Hero and PC for the update. The battery on your Hero and PC should be fully charged before you begin the update process. Here are a few things you need to do before you begin the update:
Install HTC Sync on your PC right from the online Discover Center: HTC Sync enables you to restore all of your HTC settings that were erased on your device.
Locate your USB cable: The download is performed from your PC to your Hero using the USB cable. Your USB cable is attached to your Hero wall charger unit.
Record Google login: This update will remove all apps from your device. You will need to login back into Android Market to retrieve your lost apps.
Backup contact and other vital information: Use the 30 day FREE trial of My Backup from the Android Market to back up your contacts and other vital information. If you chose to back up your text messages the update could take over an hour.
Adding MMS: The 2.1 update allows pics (MMS) to be sent to and from your Hero. If you want this feature, please add MMS to your account online or in store for an additional $5.99.
Also, please remember not to run additional programs on your PC while the update is occurring. If you run programs in the background during the update, the software could crash. Get 2.1 for your Hero now @ http://budurl.com/CSHTCHeroUpdate. -

I’d like to know which version of the Samsung Galaxy S Cellular South will be receiving. I just found out it doesn’t refer to a specific phone, but rather it refers to a series of phones, with different features for different carriers. It would be awesome if CS were to get a version very similar to the Sprint’s Epic since it has all of the hot features in newer smartphones (LED flash, front-facing camera, 3G mobile hotspot). If not, a version similar to Verizon’s Fascinate would be just as good, for I don’t think video calling is really a hot commodity. Anyway, I’m glad to know new stuff is on the way and anxiously await further details.
